Being a woman of Character In The Workplace -By Meryl Nemeti

Women of Reverence would like to welcome Meryl Nemeti as a guest blogger.

Meryl and Csaba Nemeti have been married for 34years, we have three adult children and one granddaughter Katelyn who is the light in our lives.

I experienced Christ in my life at an early age of six and I cannot imagine life without Christ.

My giftings are to counsel and to walk a walk with those going through difficult times. Words of prophecy, teaching and preaching. My passion is to see believers grow in their giftings and in the Word.

Through the years I have done Bible college, several counselling courses, and served wherever I was needed. Today we humbly serve as Elders at Breakthru Church Boksburg with our lead Elders Johnny and Alicia Moseley.

The last 20 years I have been working as a Sales rep in the area of below the line advertising products for the retail and corporate industry. During this time, I have been blessed to meet many different people from all walks of life and develop working relationships and friendships I would otherwise not have been able to do.

I love spending time with my family, to be home when I can, do flower arrangements, bake, read and knit.

But my greatest passion of all is to have a personal relationship with my Lord, to walk with Him and to sit on His lap and to hear His heartbeat as He talks to me.

As a Sales Rep over the last 20 years I have dealt with many people from all different walks of life, different beliefs, different cultures, some have been a pleasure to work with, some have been a challenge on so many levels. Sometimes the manufacturing and production of the job can go smoothly from the beginning to the end, but many times it can throw you some curve balls and it requires hard work, patience and endurance to see that end product produced is a high standard of excellence.

The one thing I have learnt over the years is that it doesn’t matter who and what you must deal with, what matters is how you respond under pressure.

It is during these testing times that we can see our true character and nature.

What we need to cultivate in our lives is wisdom and understanding and of course these don’t come without a price.

They require the kind of dedication and patient labour exercised in mining for gold and silver.

As woman of God we need to diligently “search” for the wisdom that is buried within God’s word like treasure covered by layers of earth and rock.

That means using the right tools and exercising patience and diligence as we spend time immersed in the bible.

As we dig, we must ask God to provide us with insight and understanding.

As God fills our minds with wisdom, our character will develop so that we’ll possess the ability to consistently make right choices – choices that are just, fair and moral.

Out there in the workplace people are not impressed by facades or manipulation, but by authenticity.

My question is what are you really like when no one is looking?

It is amazing to see what God can do with a person who wants to grow personally and develop character.

The good news is that God does want you to grow as much as you possibly can.

2 Peter 1: 5 -10

5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness, and to goodness, knowledge.

6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness.

7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.

8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 But whoever does not have them is near-sighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.

10 Therefore, my brothers and sisters,[a] make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble,

When we are faced with difficulties in our work situations, whatever it may be, we need to remember that when we received Christ into our lives we became a new creation in Christ (Romans 6: 6 -13) we have also received the Holy Spirit whose power within us makes it possible for us to manifest these qualities of Godly character.

True character transformation takes place from the inside out.

The attributes of faith, goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness and love flow from a life of Christ that has been implanted within us.

Today as you reflect on these eight qualities ask the Lord to make them increasingly real in your life.

My prayer for you today is that when pressures arise that you may show character and strength in that situation and be the light and salt in the darkness.

May the Lord bless you all.
