Name of Book:

Strength for Each Day

Author:

Joyce Meyer

What drew you to read this book:

It is a devotional for 365 days. I have never read a devotional before especially one that covers the whole year, so thought I would give it a try.

What impact did this book have on your life:

It was truly a new experience for me. I enjoy reading long stories and wanted to see if I would enjoy a devotional as they tend to be very short. I was good! Everyday has a different message and it is easy to read and follow, they are also scriptures included so you can go read the chapter or verse in context. I loved it for the simplicity.

In a paragraph, what is the main point of the book:

The book is full of encouragement. It has short messages with scripture plus all the days of the year added on so you can easily keep track of where you are. There is a page with the tittle "What you say Matters" the scripture focus is on Joel 3:10 Joyce Meyer says "don't talk yourself into failure", Yes there are things we can't do on our own and that is alright because we don't have to, God can. In Matthew 19:26 we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. We need to remind ourselves that God can do it through us when we allow him to, so don't talk yourself to fail but allow God to use you. I was very encouraged by this, I think we often do this to ourselves.

Who would benefit from reading this book:

Everyone will benefit from reading this devotional book. It is a great way to read the word because of all the scriptures provided.
