Book Review: Walk out on the Water By: Caitlyn De Beer

This amazing daily devotional has been chosen as the Women of Reverence Book of the month for May 2021.

Women of Reverence would like to thank Lusanda Dhlamini for her book review.

The ocean has forever been a place of solace for me; a place of safety, always refreshing and refueling. The seas may roar, the storms may roll in, the waves may crash but then there are the moments between sets, when the sea is still, the horizon present and all is well. Life in many ways is like this too. Struggles we will face, waves of emotion will wash over us, but as we take it all before Jesus, He will refuel, He will refresh, He promises to quench our deep thirst and reminds us of the abundance of life in and with Him. God is the only true source of living water and He is calling you to walk beside quiet waters with Him. It is my hope that this devotional takes you on a journey in discovering this for yourself.

What drew you to read this book:

I love the title of the Book. For the past three years, every start of the year, the Holy Spirit leads me to the story where Peter walked on water towards Jesus. So the title resonated with me a lot.

What impact did this book have:

The devotion each day spoke to me. It has helped me face the day - start the day on the right footing. This is the year for me to walk on water as I have various projects that I have planned. These AWESOME devotions are encouraging, strengthening, convicting and mostly make you want to dig deeper in the Word of God.

In a paragraph, what is the main point:

It is a 365 daily devotional that encourages women in life and faith. It inspires one to pursue Jesus from a place of rest and at the same creates an urgency of knowing more about our FAITH - creates a deep hunger to study the Bible and be in His presence .

Who would benefit from reading it:

Every woman, young and old. New believers who need a practical guide or encouragement in their walk with Jesus. A gift for a friend, who is a non- believer - will serve as an invitation to know about Jesus without any pressure. A daughter & mom read to build a stronger relationship. Definitely a book club and ladies ministry group .
