Tell us a bit about yourself:
I love all things pretty. I love music and enjoy watching shows on renovations or make-overs, and that can be from cars to houses to people. I would call myself a bit of a daydreamer married to a pioneer.
What drew you to read this book? The subject of “Joy” is very interesting to me because it has so many levels and expressions.
What impact did this book make on your life? It helped me find my song. To clarify what that means to me, is that it helped me find my song in life, the tune and melody I want to live in each and every day and I never want to live out of “key” again.
What is the main point of this book? The main point of this book to me is that joy is not dependent on your life being filled with goodness and perfection. Rather it is dependent on finding hope in the loss, brokenness and sadness and looking at life and all its aspects through the eyes of Jesus. Sue takes you on a daily journey of how to do this. It helps you to form new habits to transform your way of thinking. Joy is intentional in the beginning and in the very dark moments of life but tapping into deeper rivers of joy in you makes the impossible, possible. Sue Jameson wants you to find your song in life she does this by stopping you at navel gazing and lifting your chin up, opening your eyes and mouth and as you lift up your body posture with awe and hope you find thankfulness to Jesus and you laugh in the midst of it all.
Who would benefit from reading this book? Young and old, male and female, rich and poor, healthy and the sick, all colours and creeds.
