Book Review: The End of the Age Author: John Hagee

If you knew sudden destruction would fall upon the earth in the next twenty-four hours, how would you spend your last moments? Join New York Times bestselling author John Hagee as he uses Scripture as a guide to count down the prophetic minutes through the events which must occur before every individual faces God on Judgment Day.

Charting international news events, including recent peace agreements in the Middle East, Hagee synchronizes these headlines with the biblical timeline for the last days, producing a compelling argument that life on Earth is about to expire. What else must take place before the arrival of Judgment Day?

This very timely message discusses:

  • The reality of virtual terrorism

  • The financial crisis and economic crash

  • Opposing views of the Rapture

  • Recent peace agreements in the Middle East that impact Israel and a potential Russian invasion

  • Nuclear wars

  • The purpose of the Tribulation and the Millennium

Significantly updated and revised from its previous publication under the title From Daniel to Doomsday, this is quintessential Hagee on Bible prophecy and End-Times teaching. This insightful book is an ideal resource for Christians who are looking for a guide to what the Bible says about the end times--and how to recognize that they are approaching.

Mark it down: The End of the Age is approaching, but it won't be ushered in by space aliens or catastrophic asteroids. Hagee guides us through the timeline before that fateful moment when every unredeemed individual must face God on Judgment Day.

Name of Book:

The End of the Age - The countdown has begun

Author:

John Hagee

What drew you to read this book?:

The dramatic flair of the title.

What impact did this book have on your life?:

First off, I have to admit I'm not a big "End times seeker". I find these types of books, when not read with discernment, can stir severe fear and actually derail us from God's truth and hope. That said, the impact it did have on me, is the reminder of the crucial importance of evangelism. There will be a Rapture of all believers, which will be followed by an unimaginable time of Tribulation. When we love God will all our hearts, minds, and souls, then we should love our neighbors as ourselves, which should cause us to make every effort to share the Good News with people, at every opportunity we get. The Rapture has not yet happened, and salvation through Jesus Christ is still available.

In a paragraph, what is the main point of this book?:

John Hagee examines "end of time" prophecies from the Bible, from the books Ezekiel, Daniel, Malachi and Revelation. He explains how easy it is for people to succumb to false doctrine when they don't know the truth of God's Word. He discusses things that have happened, is happening and will be happening closer to the end of time. He aims to clarify confusion through scripture, around the Rapture, as well as the time of Tribulation.

Who would benefit from reading this book?:

Anyone who enjoys this genre. Anyone who would like a deeper understanding of some of the prophetic books in the Bible. *Note of caution: Know God's Word for yourself and read this book with eyes of discernment.
