Book Review: The Bouncing Back Daily Devotional Author: Vivian Cynthia

Life in general is comprised of a series of ups and downs. What life has thought me over the years is that whether one is experiencing either the upside or the downside of life, it is never permanent. Everything that we are faced with in this journey of life is just a season, and seasons have an expiry date.

Nothing is permanent on this side of eternity, no matter how painful or how pleasant the season is I have learned that it passes. So, no matter what you are going through at the moment it shall come to pass in due season. But when the season pass you shall remain standing, especially if your life is anchored on a sure foundation of HOPE. As I typed this devotional day after day, the Lord impressed one thought on my mind, "You can Bounce Back" from any season. Never doubt the power of bouncing back. Resilience is in your DNA, you have been created to overcome and survive everything that life throws at you. In this Daily Devotional I pray that you find inspiration to Bounce Back from whatever life throws at you. Whether you choose to make it a morning or evening devotional I hope you are inspired. The Bounce back Daily Devotional will infuse your day or evening with a dose of inspiration.

What drew you to read this book:

It was a gift from Pinky at FLP Church, we go to church together. The title of the book drew me to read it. I could relate to it because I have been through a dark season in my life. I have had to rediscover myself and my identity in Christ. I am encouraged that when life happens you may feel defeated and lost, but you cannot stay down for good, there is hope.

What impact did this book have on your life:

After having to separate from my partner of more than 10 years, taking our 3 kids back home and being all by myself, I fell into major depression. The disappointment was hard to bear, I had dig deep to find myself again, had to learn to accept life as it comes. It was about seeking the Lord's guidance and learning to trust God's word and His promises. I am grateful for the goodness of God in my life. This book has encouraged me through the challenging days in my life.

In a paragraph, what is the main point of the book:

No matter what you have been through in life, God can use you. God can choose you to change family beliefs and practices or even break generational curses. God has plans for my life and His plans are better than mine. Being a child of God doesn't exempt me from trials and tribulation, the fires of life nor the valley of the shadow of death. I have learnt that God is always with me, through the good and the bad, I just need to trust Him.

Who would benefit from reading this book:

Any person who feels like life has kicked them down, lost hope and not able to understand why certain life events happen to them. This book has scriptures that encourages and confirms that God is always with you and for you, in each and every season.
