Book Review: Love Says Author: Samantha Gillion

This book about God's love and restoration has been chosen as the Women of Reverence book of the Month.

As we go through life, we are made aware and exposed to different voices; some reassuring and comforting, others disheartening and discouraging.

Often times, misfortunes, loss and heartbreak become the platform for those negative voices to rise up and convince us to give up. This is a narrative Samantha knows all too well.

  • When doubt said: “You can’t possibly overcome this”; Love said: “All Things are Possible.”

  • When pain said: “Your scars are worsening”; Love said: “You will heal”

  • When inadequacy said: “You are lacking”; Love said: “You are enough.”

  • When rejection said: “No one wants you”; Love said: “You are mine.”

As you read, you will begin to recognize Love’s voice in your own life, become familiar with Love’s words and realize that Love has a name-Jesus.

Oh my goodness! This book caught me by surprise. I loved how she started the book by simply saying Princess let's talk, it made me pay attention and read with intent. She addresses the importance of Love and understanding that we are loved. It is a relatable book for anyone who has struggled with being loved or felt rejected.

In a paragraph, what is the main point of the book:

The book is about the love of God for us. Each chapter teaches on a subject which I think are the areas we all struggle and face challenges in and then adds her experience to make it relatable and then concludes with meditation and reflections (loved that). The book helps you understand that forgiveness, healing and restoration among others are all possible when we submit to God. To quote the book "Healing will look different for all of us. What we need to believe is that God has the power to heal the whole person. Whether that is spiritual healing, physical healing or emotional healing." That just draws you in to the revelation that our God is big and He has a plan of restoration for all of us, it will look exactly as God intended for us.
