Liesl Maré’s passion for Jesus was reborn while studying Law at the University of Stellenbosch in the early 90’s.
Shortly after joining a radical church she met her husband, Siegfried Maré, and even before they dated, they planned a mission trip to Malawi.
The nations have always been in her heart and she, together with her husband and then 2 year old daughter, moved to Rwanda and served as Managers of an orphanage in the late 90’s.
After that a season ensued of working in the secular world, running various small business enterprises, and doing Soft Skills training.
The call for full-time ministry did not leave though, and in 2007 Siegfried and Liesl planted Die Akker Kerk, an Afrikaans congregation in the suburb of Linden, Johannesburg. They are also serving on the NCMI Apostolic team.
The Maré’s have 4 children who all passionately love Jesus and live the call of going to the nations with their parents.
Liesl loves preaching and equipping women to become what God intended them to be, especially in their marriages and with raising children. She travels with her husband to any nation that beckons and cannot think of a greater privilege than to spread the gospel in every place she can.
For relaxation she tries interesting recipes and enjoys baking anything with chocolate in.
