Leonie Currin

Johannesburg, South Africa

I am a married woman with two grownup children and a grandchild. My husband and I have been in full time ministry for 12 years.

We both started out in the corporate world, Terry as a lawyer and myself in Strategic HR.

I qualified as a Biometrician/ Applied Statistician and started working in research but quickly gravitated to lecturing in many tertiary institutions. After completing my MBA in 1996 I joined the corporate world specializing in strategic HR.

God called me out of my corporate career to become a high school maths teacher and later Principal of a small Christian School. I believe His intention was to knock off some hard edges and raise me up to be a mother in His Kingdom. That process is still happening.

My life purpose inwardly is to see Leonie decrease and God increase. Outwardly that my gentleness may be evident to all (Phil 4:5) and that my life and my talents to be used to the best that I can to glorify God (Col 3:23).

I am passionate about the Word of God and believe He has equipped me to teach.  I am a Preacher & Teacher of God’s Word.  As part of the Hope City Church's Preaching & Teaching Team I was given the opportunity to lead theology classes.  I am self-taught and have shared my research and writings with anyone keen to learn more about Jesus. I have developed teachings on the 10 major doctrines and various other topics. I have taught Surveys of both the Old and New Testament. Currently I have used some of the material available from RZim ministries and studied apologetics with the theology group.

I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to preach. It is a solemn yet joyful privilege to be used as a conduit for His Word.
